Irish music legend Daniel O’Donnell has announced that he will be taking an extended break from his busy career, following ongoing health challenges.
The 63-year-old star, known for his devoted fan base and decades of hits, has revealed that he will be stepping back from his demanding touring schedule to focus on his health and well-being.
In a statement shared with fans, a spokesperson for O’Donnell said: “After much reflection, Daniel has decided to take an extended break from touring. This decision was not made lightly, but it is driven by the health challenges he has faced over the past few years, particularly with allergies and recurrent chest infections while touring extensively.”
Despite his health struggles, O’Donnell will continue to honour his touring commitments until December 2025, after which he will step away from the stage for some much-needed rest and recovery.
The spokesperson added: “This pause is essential for him to recharge and recover.” However, fans can breathe a sigh of relief, as the spokesperson also confirmed that this is not a retirement, but rather a temporary break.
O’Donnell, who has enjoyed a glittering career spanning decades, is beloved for his warm personality, classic ballads, and countless sold-out shows.
