Daisy Campbell, best known for playing Amelia Spencer on ITV’s Emmerdale, is making a return to television, and this time, she’s switched sides.
The 21-year-old actress has landed a guest role on BBC’s long-running medical drama Casualty, just months after bidding farewell to the Dales. The move marks her first on-screen appearance since exiting Emmerdale earlier this year.
Daisy will appear in Casualty this weekend, portraying a character named Georgina Birch, although show bosses are staying tight-lipped about the nature of her storyline. As of now, few details have been revealed, leaving fans guessing what drama may unfold during her stint in Holby.
“She’s a talented young actress, and her role in Casualty will give her fans a fresh look at her range,” a BBC source said. “It’s a one-off guest appearance for now, but there’s always a chance we’ll see more of her.”
Campbell played Amelia Spencer for over a decade, having joined Emmerdale at the age of seven. Over the years, her character was at the heart of some of the show’s most emotional and high-profile storylines, including teenage pregnancy, grief, and family trauma.
Her performance was praised by both critics and viewers, and her departure from Emmerdale left many fans wondering what the rising star would do next. Though speculation about future roles had been swirling online, her Casualty appearance has come as a surprise to many.
“I grew up on Emmerdale, but it’s exciting to explore new challenges and work with different teams,” Daisy recently hinted in an interview.
The episode is expected to air this Saturday night on BBC One, with teasers promising a “dramatic and emotional” storyline.
For Emmerdale and Casualty fans alike, Daisy Campbell’s return to our screens is definitely one to watch.
