Hollywood just got a little more connected, and a whole lot funnier, as the children of comedy legends Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence have officially tied the knot.
In what fans are calling the ultimate "nepo baby" union, Eddie’s 35-year-old son Eric Murphy and Martin’s 29-year-old daughter Jasmin Lawrence quietly got married earlier this month after four years of dating.
The news was confirmed by Eddie Murphy himself during a recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. Speaking casually to the host, he revealed: “Actually, they got married, like, two weeks ago.” He added that the ceremony was an intimate affair with no frills: “They went off and they got married at the church. They just had the two of them and the preacher. They had a quiet little thing. So, I think we'll have like a big party or something.”

The low-key wedding may come as a surprise to fans who had been hoping for a Hollywood-sized celebration, especially after Eddie jokingly said last year that Martin would be footing the bill. On Thursday's show, Murphy doubled down on the joke, quipping: “Martin doesn’t have to pay for that big wedding now!”
Eric and Jasmin first went public with their relationship in 2021, sharing sweet photos on social media that quickly went viral. Their romance was met with a mix of surprise and delight, given their parents’ long-standing friendship and on-screen chemistry, most famously in the Bad Boys and Life films.
Both Eric and Jasmin have kept relatively low profiles compared to their superstar fathers. Eric, a writer and voice actor, is the eldest of Eddie Murphy’s ten children. Jasmin, who graduated from Duke University, has dabbled in acting and appeared in the 2020 film Bad Boys for Life alongside her dad.
Fans of both comedy icons have flooded social media with congratulations and memes celebrating the unexpected family merger, calling it “the crossover we never knew we needed.”
While details about the upcoming celebration remain under wraps, one thing is certain: with Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence now officially in-laws, the potential for hilarious family gatherings just reached a whole new level.
Here’s hoping the reception includes a joint speech, or even a comedy roast!
