It was supposed to be a nostalgic weekend for Cobra Kai fans, until one of the show’s biggest stars turned the event into an unexpected drama of its own.
Actor Martin Kove, best known for playing the villainous John Kreese in The Karate Kid and Cobra Kai, was banned from the Washington State Summer Con in Puyallup, Washington after allegedly biting co-star Alicia Hannah-Kim in the VIP area.
The incident, which took place at the Washington State Fair and Events Centre, reportedly occurred when Hannah-Kim and her husband, actor Sebastian Roché, greeted Kove in passing. According to a police report obtained by TMZ, Kove grabbed Hannah-Kim’s arm and bit it so hard he nearly drew blood, before kissing her arm as she cried out in pain.
Shocked and visibly upset, both Hannah-Kim and Roché immediately confronted Kove, telling him his actions were inappropriate. Hannah-Kim later told police, “He insisted he bit me for fun,” and added that Kove became “furious and outraged” when she calmly told him not to do it again.
Security was quickly alerted, and Kove was ejected from the event. Local authorities were involved, though no charges have been confirmed as of yet.
This bizarre incident adds another layer of controversy to Kove, who recently made headlines for outspoken criticism of what he called “political Hollywood.”

Fans of Cobra Kai, many of whom grew up with The Karate Kid franchise and now enjoy the Netflix reboot, have taken to social media to express shock, confusion, and disappointment.
One fan wrote: “John Kreese biting someone at a con? You couldn’t write it. Cobra Kai never dies, but maybe take a timeout, Martin.”
The Cobra Kai cast has yet to release an official statement, but it remains to be seen whether Kove’s actions will have further professional repercussions.
For a series built around redemption and second chances, this incident may test the boundaries of fan forgiveness, both on and off the mat.
