Chris Brown made a surprise return to the UK stage on Sunday night, and dropped a jaw-dropping joke about his recent legal troubles that had fans gasping and laughing in equal measure.
The controversial singer, currently on his Breezy Bowl XX tour, appeared at Manchester’s Co-Op Live Arena just one month after being arrested in the same city.
“Thank You to the Jail”
Despite ongoing legal woes, the 35-year-old star was all smiles as he addressed the crowd in a black vest, showing off his heavily tattooed arms.
“I just want to tell you all, I love you all to death,” Brown told fans. “I am so thankful that I could come out here tonight. Thank you all for having me and supporting me, and thank you to the jail, y’all was really nice!”
The remark drew a mix of laughter and stunned reactions from the crowd, highlighting the singer’s unfiltered, defiant stage presence.
Facing Serious Charges
Brown’s tongue-in-cheek comment comes after he was charged with causing grievous bodily harm to music producer Abe Diaw in relation to an alleged bottle attack at the Tape nightclub in London in February 2023.
He was arrested in Manchester last month and released on remand pending further proceedings.
