Cheryl is preparing to make a long-awaited return to our TV screens, and fans couldn’t be more excited.
The former Girls Aloud singer, now 41, is reportedly in advanced talks to join the upcoming 14th series of The Voice UK as a guest mentor for Team Will.i.am.
It marks Cheryl’s first major television appearance since her stint as a dance captain on BBC’s The Greatest Dancer in 2019. And now, she could be about to rekindle the magic with her longtime friend and musical collaborator, Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am.
According to The Sun, show bosses are planning to bring back the popular Battle Rounds format, which was last seen in 2020. The source said:
“Will.i.am and Cheryl first worked together 16 years ago and have remained good friends ever since. She was the obvious choice to mentor his team when the Battle Rounds return.”
The insider added that Cheryl is easing herself back into the spotlight after a period of stepping back from the public eye to focus on personal matters.
“A lot has happened in Cheryl's personal life since she was last on a talent show,” they said. “So she's taking baby steps to put herself back out there. Teaming up with Will.i.am as a guest mentor seems the perfect way to kick-start her comeback.”
Cheryl, who first rose to fame on Popstars: The Rivals in 2002, went on to dominate the charts with Girls Aloud before becoming a household name in her own right. Her judging stints on The X Factor are still fondly remembered by fans, and her chemistry with Will.i.am on and off screen is a major draw.

If confirmed, her return to The Voice would be a welcome sight for those who’ve missed her no-nonsense charm, eye for talent, and infectious personality.
With The Voice UK set to return later this year, fans will be watching closely to see if Cheryl and Will.i.am’s mentoring magic can strike gold once more.
