Charli XCX and her fiancé George Daniel are set to exchange vows later this year in one of the most romantic corners of the world, the stunning island of Sicily. The British pop superstar and The 1975 drummer have chosen the sun-drenched Italian destination as the setting for what promises to be one of the music industry’s most glamorous weddings of the year.
The couple, who got engaged earlier this year, are reportedly sparing no expense to make their big day unforgettable, with sources estimating the final cost of the nuptials close to six figures. According to an insider, the pair instantly fell in love with the Mediterranean vibe and breathtaking scenery of Sicily during a trip there and decided it was the perfect place to say “I do.”
"Charli and George fell in love with Sicily and knew they wanted to get married there," the source revealed. "It’s incredibly secluded and romantic. There will be no expense spared. It’s costing tens of thousands of pounds and visually it will be mesmerising."
The wedding will reportedly feature everything the chart-topping couple dreamed of, from a sprawling, luxurious venue with uninterrupted views of the sea to an all-night celebration where the party doesn’t stop until the last guest heads home.

"Charli and George said they wanted a massive party and there are no restrictions on when the bar has to close, so it can go on all night," the insider added. "They have both had such a busy summer with massive shows, but from mid-August they’re able to slow down and focus on their big day."
The wedding guest list is expected to include a host of famous faces from the music and entertainment world, with many of the couple’s high-profile friends and collaborators reportedly making the journey to join the festivities in Sicily.
Fans of the Boom Clap singer and the Somebody Else drummer have been following their whirlwind romance closely, and many have taken to social media to express excitement over the news. One fan posted on X: “Charli and George getting married in Sicily sounds so iconic. Pop and indie royalty.” Another added: “That wedding is going to be one hell of a party. Congrats to them both!”
Both Charli, 31, and George, 34, have enjoyed landmark years in their respective careers, with Charli celebrating the release of her latest acclaimed album and George performing sold-out shows with The 1975 around the globe. Now, the couple are ready to take a step back from their hectic schedules to focus on their relationship and future as husband and wife.
The insider concluded: “It’s going to be pretty star-studded too, with plenty of their celeb mates making the journey over to Sicily to watch them say ‘I do’. Charli and George are so excited to become man and wife.”
