The buzz around the celebrity edition of The Traitors continues to grow, with fresh rumours suggesting a high-profile lineup is already locked in for the BBC’s much-anticipated spin-off.
According to insiders, Welsh singer Charlotte Church is the latest big name to sign up for the series, which will begin filming this spring in the atmospheric Scottish Highlands, the same remote, brooding location that’s become synonymous with the show’s nail-biting twists and betrayals.
Church will reportedly be joined by a colourful mix of household names, including comedian Alan Carr, legendary chat show host Jonathan Ross, England rugby star Joe Marler, Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway, and cult comic favourite Bob Mortimer.
A source close to production has claimed the six celebrities are “nailed on” for the series, with filming due to commence soon. “There will be a huge mix of personalities, and ego sizes,” they said. “Seeing how it all works out is going to be fascinating.”
While the original version of The Traitors has become a ratings juggernaut thanks to its suspenseful gameplay, backstabbing twists, and dramatic roundtable reveals, producers are reportedly expecting the celebrity edition to take on a very different dynamic.
“The team making the show are expecting it to be quite different to the regular version because the celebrities will be less motivated by the prize fund but care far more about how they come across,” the insider explained.
With stars potentially more concerned about public perception than cash, the social strategies, alliances, and betrayals that define The Traitors may play out in unpredictable ways. “It will be really interesting to see how the gameplay compares, along with which tactics they employ,” the source added. “Hopefully one thing that will remain the same is that it will be a lot of fun to watch.”
The BBC has yet to confirm the official line-up or release date, but with production set to start soon and interest running high, fans won’t have long to wait before the masks go on and the deception begins.
If the rumoured names prove true, viewers can expect fireworks, mind games, and plenty of drama, all under the watchful gaze of Claudia Winkleman, who is expected to return as host.
