Celebrity SAS Pays Full Fee, Even If Stars Quit Early

Celebrity SAS Pays Full Fee, Even If Stars Quit Early

Channel 4’s Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins is known for pushing its celebrity contestants to their physical and mental limits, but this year, it's not just the gruelling conditions turning heads.

It’s now been revealed that stars who quit the show early are still paid their full fee, with some walking away with up to £20,000, even if they barely last a day in the desert.

The new season, which launched last week, features a fresh batch of brave (or bold) celebrity recruits including X Factor singer Lucy Spraggan, footballer Troy Deeney, and infamous former drugs mule Michaella McCollum.

But it’s the quick exits that have caught the attention of viewers, and now, insiders have revealed that those who bow out early still cash in, regardless of how long they stay in the competition.

Big Money for a Short Stint

According to The Sun, pop star Hannah Spearritt of S Club 7 lasted just one minute on screen before handing in her armband and quitting the brutal training course.

She was soon followed by dancer Louie Spence, who also couldn’t handle the pressure. The second episode saw Love Island alumni Tasha Ghouri and Chloe Burrows quitting on the spot after just one challenge.

Despite their swift exits, a source revealed: “Hannah Spearritt, Chloe Burrows and Tasha Ghouri will all have been paid over £10k, some as much as £20k, but unlike other reality shows, they still get paid if they pull out.

“So even though Hannah only lasted one minute, she’ll still get paid over £10k for that minute.”

The generous fee structure has sparked debate among fans and industry insiders alike. While many accept the risk these celebrities take by signing up for such a physically punishing show, others have questioned the fairness of dishing out full pay for minimal participation.

Why the Show Pays Regardless

The programme is known for attracting a wide array of celebrities, from chart-topping singers and reality TV stars to sports icons and controversial public figures. But the harsh filming conditions in remote locations and the intense training regimen often prove too much.

Producers reportedly offer the flat-rate appearance fee to attract big names who might otherwise be hesitant. As the source explained,

“It’s all part of the deal. The show’s producers know it’s a gamble, and that some stars will walk. But the pay is designed to get them to sign on the dotted line in the first place.”

Celebrity SAS continues to draw strong viewing figures, with audiences tuning in each week to watch their favourite stars break down, push through, or, in some cases, simply give up.

Viewer Reactions Mixed

Online reactions to the revelation have been divided. Some viewers expressed frustration, with one writing: “Imagine getting £10k to last one minute. I’d do that job any day!”

Others were more sympathetic, commenting: “It’s not for everyone. Mental health and physical wellbeing come first.”

Regardless of opinion, the facts remain: if you sign up for Celebrity SAS, and quit within minutes, you’re still walking away with a sizeable cheque.
