Comedian and Gogglebox favourite Babatunde Aleshe is the latest name confirmed to appear on The Great British Bake Off: Stand Up To Cancer, and fans can expect plenty of laughter, mishaps, and signature banter when he steps into the famous tent.
Known for his infectious positivity and quick wit, Babatunde is set to join a celebrity line-up that reportedly includes JoJo Siwa and Molly-Mae Hague for the special charity edition of the baking competition.
A source told The Sun: “Babatunde is guaranteed to be hilarious and will no doubt have plenty of banter with Paul Hollywood, Noel Fielding, Caroline Quentin and Alison Hammond. He’s not known for his prowess in the kitchen, so there’s sure to be some panicky moments laced with the good humour he’s known for.”
The I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! alum has built a strong fan base with his appearances on Celebrity Gogglebox, where his light-hearted takes and easy-going charm made him one of the most popular contributors. Channel 4 bosses are now hoping that same energy translates into top-tier entertainment under the pressure of the Bake Off tent.
While Babatunde’s baking skills remain a mystery, his presence is sure to add a comic edge to the show, which has become a fan-favourite each year for combining celebrity chaos with heartfelt fundraising. Past episodes have seen stars rise, and crumble, in their attempts to master everything from cakes and bread to biscuits and pastries, all in the name of raising money for Stand Up To Cancer.
