Coronation Street favourite Catherine Tyldesley is set to make a dramatic return to Weatherfield, seven years after leaving the famous cobbles.
The 41-year-old actress, who became a household name playing glamorous barmaid Eva Price, first joined the long-running ITV soap in 2011. Her character quickly became a fan favourite, known for her sharp wit, high heels, and complicated love life.
Eva was introduced as the daughter of Stella Price, played by EastEnders legend Michelle Collins, who was also the long-lost mother of Leanne Battersby. During her time on the show, Eva was involved in some of the soap’s most memorable storylines, including her turbulent romance with Jason Grimshaw, her explosive feud with Maria Connor, and her heartbreaking baby storyline.
After seven successful years, Catherine decided to leave the soap in 2018 to pursue new acting roles. Since then, she has appeared in various TV dramas and taken part in Strictly Come Dancing, but fans have long hoped she would return to the Street.

According to The Sun, soap bosses have finally persuaded her to come back, and her return promises to be one of the biggest storylines of the year.
The paper reports that Eva Price will be unveiled as the brand new landlady of the Rovers Return Inn, taking on one of the most coveted roles in soapland.
A source told the publication:
“It’s one of the biggest jobs in soap, the landlady of the Rovers Return pub. Bosses were desperate to get Cath back, and they came up with the perfect storyline with her being unveiled as the new landlady.”
The news is sure to delight long-time Coronation Street fans, who will remember the Rovers being run by some of the most iconic characters in TV history, from Bet Lynch to Liz McDonald and Jenny Connor.
If the reports are true, Catherine will begin filming this summer, with her episodes expected to air later in the year. Her return could also shake up the dynamics of the Street, especially with Jenny currently in charge behind the bar.
Catherine has previously said she would “never rule out” a return to Corrie, but the timing had never been quite right, until now. In past interviews, she has spoken warmly about her time on the soap and the “family feel” of working on the show.
Fans will now be eagerly awaiting confirmation from ITV and an official announcement of her first on-screen appearance date. But one thing is certain, Eva Price is coming back, and she’s about to make the Rovers Return sparkle once again.
