Call for volunteers to join beach clean-up in South Tenerife this Sunday

A community beach clean-up has been organised for this Sunday, 25th May, starting at 8:30am in the coastal area of Palm-Mar, in the south of Tenerife.

The initiative, organised by Tenerife Dolphin/Royal Delfin with the support of Arona’s Department of Environment, Sustainability and Public Services, and in collaboration with Ichasagua Trail, aims to raise environmental awareness and encourage public participation in protecting the island’s coastline.

Open to all, including residents, holidaymakers, families and groups of friends, the clean-up offers a chance to take direct action in preserving one of Arona’s natural treasures.

A Community Effort for a Cleaner Coast

In addition to removing rubbish from the beach, the event also aims to highlight the vital role oceans play in the planet’s health and to promote more sustainable habits in everyday life.

The Department of Environment has backed the initiative by providing resources and encouraging local involvement. “This Sunday we’re coming together at Palm-Mar to protect and care for our coastal environment,” said Clari Pérez, Arona’s councillor for Environment, Sustainability and Public Services. “This clean-up is a clear example of the council’s commitment, and that of our residents, to building a more sustainable Arona.”

Organisers hope the event will inspire ongoing environmental responsibility and foster a stronger connection between the community and its natural surroundings.
