Coronation Street has been crowned Best Soap at the Inside Soap Awards 2025, marking its second consecutive victory at the annual celebration of British television’s most-loved dramas.
The ceremony, held last night in London, was a star-studded evening that brought together cast members from Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks, and international favourites including Neighbours and Casualty.
Corrie’s Big Night
It was an especially triumphant night for Coronation Street, which not only took home Best Soap but also collected accolades for Best Storyline, Best Actress, Best Partnership, and Best Comic Performance.
Vicky Myers, who has won widespread praise for her portrayal of DS Lisa Swain, was awarded Best Actress, beating strong competition from across the soaps.

The storyline award went to the harrowing arc involving Mason Radcliffe’s death, after the character was stabbed by his own brothers, combined with Abi Webster’s battle with PTSD, a plot praised for its sensitivity and emotional impact.
Long-running cast member Jack P Shepherd, who plays David Platt, claimed Best Comic Performance, while the dynamic duo of Alison King and Vicky Myers (Carla Connor and DS Lisa Swain) secured the Best Partnership trophy.
EastEnders and Emmerdale Shine
It wasn’t just a night for Corrie. EastEnders’ Steve McFadden was honoured with Best Actor for his enduring role as Phil Mitchell, showcasing the character’s resilience and raw emotional power.
Former EastEnders star Navin Chowdhry repeated his success from last year, once again taking home Best Villain for his chilling portrayal of Nish Panesar, while James Bye won Best Exit for Martin Fowler’s heartbreaking departure in the show’s live 40th anniversary episode.
Rising talent was also celebrated, with Laura Doddington picking up Best Newcomer for her wicked turn as Nicola Mitchell.
Meanwhile, over in the Dales, the Dingle family extended their record-breaking run by claiming the Best Family trophy for the fifth time. Emmerdale also secured Best Showstopper with its dramatic limo crash disaster episode, a stunt that saw the vehicle plunged into an icy lake with tragic consequences.
Other Highlights
The awards didn’t just focus on UK soaps. International favourite Neighbours was recognised with an Outstanding Achievement (Team) award, while Stefan Dennis, who has played Paul Robinson for decades, was named Best Daytime Star.
Casualty star Michael Stevenson earned Best Drama Star, while Hollyoaks veteran Nick Pickard received a special Outstanding Achievement (Solo) award for his long-standing role as Tony Hutchinson.
Finally, Heather Peace was crowned Soap Superstar for her portrayal of Eve Panesar-Unwin in EastEnders, rounding off a memorable night for the BBC soap.
Celebrating the Best of Soap
The Inside Soap Awards once again highlighted why British soaps remain a cornerstone of television culture. From Corrie’s hard-hitting social storylines to Emmerdale’s spectacular stunts and EastEnders’ emotional punches, the genre continues to captivate millions.
And with Coronation Street now holding onto the coveted Best Soap title for a second year in a row, it seems life on the cobbles is showing no signs of slowing down.
