The wait is over, the line-up for the new series of Celebrity Race Across the World has been officially confirmed, and fans are already counting down the days until the epic journey begins.
Four celebrity pairings are swapping red carpets, radio studios, and TV sets for backpacks and buses as they take on the gruelling adventure, travelling thousands of kilometres without the luxury of flights or phones.
Leading the line-up is Countryfile star Anita Rani, who will be joined by her dad, Bal, in what promises to be a heart-warming father-daughter adventure. Also taking part is Derry Girls favourite Dylan Llewellyn, travelling with his mum, Jackie. Fans will no doubt enjoy seeing the softer side of Dylan as he takes on this once-in-a-lifetime challenge.
Radio and TV personality Roman Kemp is entering the race with his sister, singer-songwriter Harleymoon Kemp, giving fans a unique glimpse into their sibling bond as they navigate the highs and lows of the journey. And rounding out the line-up is DJ Tyler West with his girlfriend, EastEnders star Molly Rainford, the only romantic couple of the series, which could add an extra layer of tension and teamwork drama.
This six-part series will unfold against a brand-new backdrop, taking viewers on a breathtaking adventure through the Caribbean and along the Pacific coast of Central America.
The race kicks off on the picturesque island of Isla Mujeres, just off Mexico’s easternmost tip, where the teams will take their very first steps on the journey. From there, they will race across 5,900km of rugged terrain, bustling cities, and remote villages to reach the finish line at Península de La Guajira in Colombia, the dramatic gateway to South America.
As always, the rules remain the same: no flights, no smartphones, and no fancy shortcuts. Contestants must travel using only the money equivalent of an economy air fare, finding their own food, accommodation, and transport along the way.
Fans of the hit BBC series can expect all the usual drama, missed buses, language barriers, emotional highs, tearful lows, as the celebrity teams push themselves to the limit physically and mentally. And of course, there will be plenty of tender moments too, as relationships are tested and strengthened on the road.
BBC producers have promised this will be the most scenic race yet, taking in white-sand beaches, ancient ruins, jungle landscapes, and lively Latin American cities. With a cast as diverse and entertaining as this one, viewers are in for a series full of heart, humour, and plenty of surprises.
Celebrity Race Across the World is expected to air later this year on BBC One and iPlayer.
