According to TMZ, the multi-platinum rapper has been accused of assault, battery, and negligence by an anonymous woman who claims Cardi injured her during a chaotic moment at a 2022 pool party held at Drai’s Beachclub, part of The Cromwell Hotel in Las Vegas.
The unnamed plaintif, referred to as Jane Doe, alleges that Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, threw a microphone into the crowd, striking her in the face. The woman claims that prior to the incident, Cardi had encouraged fans to splash her with water to help combat the intense heat in the Nevada desert.
However, the situation reportedly escalated when a fan tossed a cup filled with liquid and ice. In response, Cardi hurled her mic into the crowd, allegedly hitting the wrong person, leading to what Jane Doe describes as physical and emotional injuries.
Despite being cleared of criminal charges in 2023 after a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department investigation, this civil lawsuit has now emerged, reigniting controversy surrounding the event.

Attorney Cierra N. Norris, representing the alleged victim, is holding a press conference in Las Vegas to provide further details and announce legal steps. The attorney claims her client suffered "lasting pain and trauma" as a result of the incident and is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.
The lawsuit accuses Cardi of acting “recklessly and with disregard for the safety of others,” particularly when reacting to a situation she herself encouraged by asking for water to be thrown at her.
While Cardi was cleared criminally in this case in 2023, she is no stranger to courtrooms. Over the years, she has faced lawsuits related to defamation, copyright issues, and altercations. However, the Bronx-born artist remains one of music’s most influential voices and maintains a fiercely loyal fanbase.
Her legal team has not yet commented on the new civil suit but had previously asserted that she acted in self-defence and that the microphone toss was in direct response to a potentially harmful act.
As of now, Cardi B has not issued a public statement about the lawsuit. With attorney Norris hosting a press conference and further court filings expected in the coming days, the story is likely to gain traction once again in the press and online.
