Brad Pitt Reveals His On-Set Beans Nightmare That Left the Crew Running for the Doors

Brad Pitt has opened up about one of his most embarrassing, and smelliest, moments on a film set, leaving an entire crew fleeing a cafe after his stomach couldn’t handle the pressure of “method acting”.

The 60-year-old actor, who has become almost as famous for eating on-screen as for his iconic roles, shared the story on the New Heights podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce this week. Fans of Pitt have long noticed his penchant for snacking during scenes, from crisps in Se7en and turkey legs in Troy to hot dogs in Cutting Class and even a rat in Interview With A Vampire.

But, as Brad revealed, his habit of eating on camera hasn’t always gone down well. Literally.

When asked about his favourite and least favourite foods to film with, Brad fondly recalled the ice cream sundae he enjoyed in Ocean’s Eleven. But then he admitted his worst experience came on one of his earlier movies, in a scene set in a small, tightly packed cafe.

For the scene, Pitt’s character was starving and had to devour a plate of beans and bacon, and Brad decided to fully commit to the moment.

“I just powered down this plate of beans,” he explained. “Take two, do the same thing. Take three, I do the same thing. Take four, I do the same thing. Something hit me. There was nothing I could do. I was stuck in this chair, nature took its course.”

At first, Brad thought he had managed to get away with his slip-up, until he realised the smell had engulfed the entire set.

“Suddenly, the entire crew, the most diabolical something-something descended on the crew in the whole room, and they fled the cafe. Fled!” he laughed.

While the actor didn’t reveal which film the mishap occurred on, he admitted the experience taught him a lesson: “Ever since then, I pace myself,” he added with a grin.
