Barry Manilow is set to return to the UK stage once more, announcing a series of arena concerts for June next year that he says will be his very last. The news comes just a year after the 81-year-old singer delivered what was billed as his “farewell to UK audiences” during a sold-out residency at London’s iconic Palladium.
The legendary performer, famous for timeless hits such as Mandy, Could It Be Magic, and Copacabana (At the Copa), will perform in Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, Cardiff, Birmingham, and London as part of his newly announced tour.
In his announcement, Manilow admitted that despite last year’s farewell, he simply couldn’t resist returning to perform for his UK fans. “I swear, I SWEAR I really meant it when I said goodbye to everyone in the UK on the last night of our fantastic run at the great London Palladium,” he explained. “But, as of now I can still run around the stage, I can still hit the high F natural at the end of Even Now and I still look fabulous! I don’t wanna say goodbye! So we’re coming back.”
The run of shows is being billed as his “last arena concerts” in the UK, suggesting that while Manilow may still perform in other settings, this will mark the end of his large-scale tours on British soil. For many fans who grew up with his music, it will be a final chance to hear the Grammy, Emmy, and Tony award-winning artist perform his greatest hits live.
Manilow has enjoyed a career spanning more than five decades, selling over 85 million records worldwide and earning a place among the most successful entertainers in history. Known for his charismatic stage presence, powerful vocals, and emotional ballads, he has built a dedicated fanbase that stretches across generations.
The singer’s relationship with his UK audience has been particularly strong, with sold-out tours and residencies over the years that have drawn fans from all corners of the country. His London Palladium residency in 2023 was met with rave reviews, with many praising his energy, humour, and ability to deliver an evening filled with both nostalgia and pure showmanship.
For those who missed out last year, the newly announced arena shows will be a chance to celebrate a remarkable catalogue of music that has stood the test of time. From the romantic sweep of Can’t Smile Without You to the glittering fun of Copacabana, the concerts promise a journey through Manilow’s greatest hits.
Whether this proves to be his final UK tour or not, Barry Manilow’s ability to connect with audiences remains undimmed. As he prepares to take the stage once more, British fans will no doubt turn out in force to give him the send-off he so richly deserves, even if it’s one they’ve heard before.
