BRITNEY SPEARS ISSUED WARNING AFTER MID-FLIGHT SMOKING INCIDENT

Pop icon Britney Spears, 43, has been issued a warning by authorities after lighting a cigarette during a private flight from Cabo San Lucas to Los Angeles. The incident, which occurred on May 23, 2025, prompted flight attendants to intervene and led to authorities meeting the aircraft upon landing at LAX.

According to reports, Spears was consuming alcohol during the flight and lit a cigarette mid-air, actions that violated standard airline safety regulations. Flight attendants described her behaviour as "difficult," but noted that she complied when asked to extinguish the cigarette.

Upon arrival in Los Angeles, a customs official issued Spears a warning regarding her in-flight conduct. No further legal action was taken.

In response to the incident, Spears took to Instagram to explain that she believed smoking was permitted on the flight due to the plane's setup. She also mentioned that it was her first time drinking vodka, which contributed to her assumptions. Spears apologised to those offended and accused a flight attendant of being invasive. She posted a video of herself toasting and dancing to “Despacito,” appearing unbothered by the incident.

This event has raised renewed concerns about Spears' well-being, especially considering her history of public struggles and the end of her 13-year conservatorship in 2021. While she has since released a best-selling memoir, "The Woman in Me," detailing her personal and professional life, this latest incident underscores ongoing public and official attention to her stability.

Representatives for Spears have not responded to requests for comment regarding the incident.
