Rising star Bobby Brazier is set to exit EastEnders later this year, bringing his three-year run as Freddy Slater to an end as he eyes new opportunities beyond Albert Square.
The 21-year-old actor and model joined the iconic BBC soap in 2022 and quickly became a fan favourite for his portrayal of the cheeky yet charming Freddy, son of the late Little Mo. His performance earned him the National Television Award for Rising Star and a loyal following across the UK.
But following his show-stealing run on Strictly Come Dancing in 2023, where his charisma and dance skills dazzled both judges and viewers, Bobby has reportedly been flooded with offers for other projects.
An EastEnders spokeswoman confirmed the departure, saying, “We can confirm that Bobby Brazier will be leaving EastEnders, and we wish him all the best for the future.”
According to The Sun, producers recently sat down with Brazier to discuss the long-term future of his character, only to discover that the actor was also feeling it was time to explore new creative paths.
“Bosses had a meeting with Bobby only recently as they had a plan in mind for a storyline, and it just so happened that Bobby was also thinking that now was the right time to look for other opportunities outside the show,” a source revealed.

While no official word has been given on Freddy’s exit storyline, fans are already speculating online, will he leave Walford for a clean break, or will there be a dramatic twist in true soap fashion?
Brazier's departure comes at a time when EastEnders has been working to refresh its cast and storylines to appeal to a younger, more diverse audience. Still, losing one of its breakout stars will no doubt leave a gap.
For Bobby, this is just the beginning. With modelling work, acting offers, and a massive social media presence, the son of the late Jade Goody is fast becoming one of the UK’s most promising young talents.
His next move remains under wraps for now, but wherever he lands, Bobby Brazier is sure to shine.
