Hollywood drama has taken a new twist as Blake Lively unexpectedly drops key legal claims against Justin Baldoni, but leaves the door wide open for a potential return to court.
In a case that’s been closely followed by industry insiders and fans alike, The Daily Mail reports that the Gossip Girl star has withdrawn two major claims from her legal complaint, including the explosive accusation that Baldoni intentionally caused her emotional distress.
The move came shortly after Baldoni’s legal team issued a sharp demand for Lively to produce medical evidence to support her allegations, a request she and her team clearly weren’t willing to meet.
The second claim, for negligent infliction of emotional distress, was also quietly dropped in a newly filed court document. Legal analysts suggest this could be a strategic decision by Lively’s camp to avoid disclosing potentially sensitive or private medical information during the discovery process.
However, in a surprising twist, Lively has asked to dismiss both claims without prejudice, a legal term that means she could refile them at any time in the future.
This request hasn’t gone down well with Baldoni’s lawyers, who are now accusing her of trying “to have it both ways.” In their response, they’ve issued a series of stern legal letters insisting that Lively must either back up her claims with appropriate documentation or drop them permanently.
