The Britain’s Got Talent final delivered jaw-dropping performances, emotional moments, and a thrilling victory for magician Harry Moulding, but it was the judges’ fashion choices, not just the finalists, that had viewers talking long after the curtain came down.
The grand finale, aired last Saturday night, saw 72 complaints submitted to Ofcom, the UK’s television regulator, largely focused on the “revealing” dresses worn by Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.
According to The Mirror, the complaints centred on claims that the outfits were “too revealing for a family show,” with many viewers taking to social media to voice their opinions as the episode aired live on ITV.
Both Amanda and Alesha are known for their bold and glamorous fashion statements, particularly during BGT’s live shows, but it’s far from the first time their wardrobe choices have stirred controversy. In fact, Amanda has faced similar scrutiny in previous seasons, often brushing off criticism with her trademark humour and confidence.

While some viewers expressed concern about what they deemed inappropriate attire for a prime-time programme watched by families and younger audiences, many others came to the defence of the two judges, praising their style and confidence.
One fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Let Amanda and Alesha wear what they want. They looked stunning. It's 2025, not 1955!” Another added, “More complaints about dresses than talent? Priorities, people.”
Despite the minor backlash, the show went on without interruption, culminating in Harry Moulding being crowned the winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2025. The magician wowed judges and audiences alike with his innovative illusions, earning the coveted slot at the Royal Variety Performance and a £250,000 prize.
ITV has not yet commented on the complaints, and Ofcom has yet to confirm whether it will launch a formal investigation.
As for Amanda and Alesha, they’ve remained tight-lipped so far, but if previous years are anything to go by, they’re unlikely to let a few complaints dull their sparkle.
Once again, BGT proves that it’s not just the acts that capture the nation’s attention, it’s the judges, the drama, and, sometimes, the dresses.
