Alex Scott and Jade Thirlwall Steal the Spotlight at British LGBT Awards 2025!

It was a night of celebration, sparkle, and serious star power as the British LGBT Awards 2025 lit up The Brewery in London on Friday night, and two of the biggest names of the evening were Alex Scott and Jade Thirlwall.

Hosted by the ever-charming Scott Mills alongside comedian Kemah Bob, the annual event honoured trailblazing figures in the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. But it was BBC Sport presenter Alex Scott and Little Mix icon Jade Thirlwall who truly stole the show.

Although Alex was unable to collect her LGBTQ+ Public Figure Award in person, her pop star girlfriend Jess Glynne proudly took the stage on her behalf. The touching moment comes just a year after the couple made their long-awaited red carpet debut at the BRIT Awards, a public confirmation of their romance following months of privacy. They later admitted the secrecy was intentional, with Alex saying the relationship was “too special to rush into the spotlight.”

Meanwhile, Jade Thirlwall proved once again why she’s a beloved ally to the LGBTQ+ community. She was named Moët’s Celebrity Ally of the Year, in recognition of her outspoken advocacy and unwavering support for queer rights. The award comes just weeks after the singer made headlines for leading a powerful anti-J.K. Rowling chant at one of her shows, standing in solidarity with the trans community.

Other big winners on the night included TikTok star Max Balegde, named Online Influencer of the Year, and Ali Bromley, who took home LGBTQ+ Celebrity of the Year.

One of the evening’s most heartwarming honours went to Reverend Richard Coles and GK Barry, whose unlikely friendship on I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! was awarded Media Moment of the Year. Their sweet bond resonated with viewers across the UK, becoming one of the show’s most talked-about storylines.

Music fans also applauded as Steps singer Ian 'H' Watkins accepted the Special Recognition Award for his tireless work promoting queer parenting. Watkins, who shares twin sons with ex-partner Craig Ryder, spoke emotionally about visibility and representation for LGBTQ+ families.

Also recognised was trailblazing journalist and trans advocate India Willoughby, who accepted the Pride. Purpose. Progress Award on behalf of the trans community, a poignant and powerful moment in the night’s proceedings.

And last but not least, Broadway legend and LGBTQ+ icon Billy Porter was honoured with a Special Recognition Award, closing the show with a fierce reminder of the power of pride.
