Aerosmith: Joe Perry Hints at Possible Reunion Show

Joe Perry has given Aerosmith fans a glimmer of hope by revealing that the band is “talking about” the possibility of playing one more concert together.

The iconic Boston rockers stunned the world last year when they abruptly retired from touring after frontman Steven Tyler suffered a serious vocal cord injury just three dates into their much-hyped Peace Out farewell tour in 2023. The planned 40-date tour was billed as a celebration of their 50+ year career, but it came to an early and unceremonious end after only three shows.

For fans who missed out on what was meant to be the band’s last hurrah, Joe Perry’s latest comments will come as welcome news.

In a new interview on Sirius XM’s Trunk Nation, the 73-year-old guitarist revealed that talks are ongoing about one final Aerosmith show.

“We’re talking about it,” Perry said. “I mean, except for anything on the calendar, we’re all alive and well, so, you know, we’ll just have to see. I know there’s gotta be at least another Aerosmith gig, and I’m not looking forward to putting the set list together for that one, but I don’t know, man. We’ll just have to see.”

Although no concrete plans or dates have been announced yet, his words confirm that the band members have not closed the book on Aerosmith entirely.

The news comes as a relief to legions of fans who were left disappointed by the sudden cancellation of the Peace Out tour. The farewell trek kicked off in Philadelphia in September 2023, but Tyler’s severe vocal cord damage forced the group to scrap the remaining dates shortly after.

At the time, the 76-year-old singer wrote to fans:

“I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days. We will be back as soon as we can.”

While Tyler has since been recovering out of the public eye, Perry’s comments suggest he’s well enough for at least one more reunion.

Over their five-decade career, Aerosmith became one of the most successful and influential American rock bands of all time, with hits like Dream On, Walk This Way, and I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing. They’ve sold more than 150 million records worldwide and won four Grammy Awards, earning a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.

If the band does reunite for one final concert, it would serve as a fitting send-off to one of rock’s most enduring and electrifying live acts, a chance to say goodbye on their own terms.

For now, fans will have to wait and watch as Perry and his bandmates decide if they’ll take the stage together one last time.
