About the chairty - Helping Hands Tenerife:
Helping Hands in Tenerife is a fully-registered charity based in the South of Tenerife, set up in 2009 by Liz Montague (President), Dorothy Gardner and Julie Lincoln.
The charity through it's own social and other various fund-raising events has raised over €52,000 since inception and there are firm plans in place for more events in order to raise additional funds; principally helping the less fortunate children here on the Island.
As we have chosen Tenerife as our home, we collectively feel that it is important that we help the needy on this island rather than elsewhere.
The charity has a regular following of approximately 200+ ex-patriots and this number is certainly growing due to the success of previous events, meaning more helpers are needed, such as Marion Yates who joined recently.

Rules of play:

• Two teams each consisting of an equal number of players,
• Shotgun startat 10am, with teams doubled up on each par 5 and the long par 4’s where required.
• A pairing from each main team will play against each other.
• Handicaps will be matched as closely as possible, with players playing against each other:
• The format will be ‘Two Ball Texas Scramble’ i.e. the best positioned ball will be nominated and play will continue from there.
• 8 drives from each player must be used with two wild cards allowed.
• Each pairing will mark their own scores and also the scores of their opponents, including indicating drives used. The pairs will then compare the cards at the end of the round and sign them to say they are in agreement.
• The pairing with the lowest score on each hole will be awarded a point, if the hole is halved it is half a point each. Every hole counts, so there is a total of 18 points available in each game.
• The scores from every game will be added together and the main team with the highest total will be the winners.
• Each pairing has to also keep track of their ‘shots’ score as there are prizes for lowest score with & without handicaps.
• If a player is in contention on one of the nearest the pin holes or the longest drive hole, it will be verified and be agreed with the opposing pairing. A member of the opposing pairing will sign the relevant distance sheet.
• Please note that players for a particular team are on a first come basis, so we reserve the right to allocate you to a particular team if neccessary due to space or handicap.
