The “Concierto joven” held in Puerto Santiago last Saturday night was a great success in terms of both organisation and attendance.
Local councillor for Youth Affairs Monica Concepcion Luis Medina expressed her satisfaction with the event which attracted 8,000 people over the two day period.
The concert this year was divided over two nights. Tenerife born pop stars contestant Idaira and Merche from Cadiz delighted the audience on Friday night while the K-narias girl duo provided the entertainment on Saturday.
K-narias, the girls from Añaza near Carrefour, gave a vibrant performance singing songs from their album “40 entre las dos”, forty between two, which has already sold more than 50,000 copies in the Archipelago and is now on sale on the Spanish Mainland, where a TV campaign is promoting sales. The album is also being promoted in the USA and South America under the UBO record label.
During the press conference the twenty year olds twins informed island councillor for Tourism and Planning Jose Manuel Bermudez, island director for Youth Affairs, Cristobal de la Rosa, mayor of Santiago del Teide Juan Damian Gorrin and Local councillor for Youth Monica Concepcion Luis Medina that they were proud to be Canarian adding that it was an honour to bear the name of the islands when they were promoting their work in the USA.
