Putting Arona back to work - 03.09.2010

Councillor, Miguel Angel Mendez, welcomed last week (September 1st), on behalf of all members of the town hall, the 28 new workers contracted by the municipality of Arona under the agreement signed with the Public Employment Service In its Programme for Agricultural Employment (PFEA)-in depressed rural areas 2010.

Over the next three months, these workers will meet the task of cleaning the edges of roads and access to public spaces in areas of Valle San Lorenzo, Buzanada Los Toscales.

 

 

Méndez highlighted the many natural and scenic values of the middle of the municipality, so that "such actions help to promote those values and to avoid the negative impacts of waste in the landscape." This initiative is supported by the Department of Economic and Arona Employment Promotion, which is headed by Dácil Marcelino Garcia, and aims to "influence the promotion of actions that contribute to generating employment, taking into account the difficulties of citizens to access the labour market at a time of economic crisis that we are going through.
