Schools are spruced up - in a flash - 27.08.2010

ALMOST every school in Santiago del Teide is being spruced up by the Town Hall ahead of the new academic year.

The funding is coming from the Department of Education and Work, and work is going on around the clock following a late decision to make the upgrades.

 

It was sanctioned only after members of the school councils met with the management teams of different schools in order to identify areas that needed work.

It is a large job, and the work includes the installation of security fencing and patios, and extra wall conditioning.

 

Inside, extensive painting and polishing will be carried out, while many schools will have replacement flooring, an electrical overhaul, and a full plumbing review.

 

Work is also being carried out on school sports fields and locker rooms.
