The Sons’ cream is factor 7! - 30.07.2010
By Geoff Huxtable

USING protection from the sun is a must at this time of year on this little rock in the Atlantic, or you risk getting badly burnt.
And that is exactly what happened to the league leaders on Friday night. Tenerife Sons were truly out of this world as they smashed the Phoenix Bar 7-1.
That sent the Los Abrigos team down into third place ‒ and pleading for the after-sun lotion!
The Sons themselves remain in fifth spot, but have narrowed the gap on the top four, while Exiles go back to the top after two good wins.
They just got the better of Bar 180 last Thursday (5-3), and bounced back to the top in a farewell game for Calum and Hugh as they soundly beat Rood A 6-2.
Grizzly was on fire for the visitors, and Luc again showed his class with another maximum score. Nauta Bar A’s Tom returned to form in his team’s match against Tosacles Allsorts, checking out with a 109 on the way to their 6-2 victory.
Heroes sports bar got themselves out of the bottom three with an emphatic win over fellow-strugglers Strikers Bar. Harry assures me that the scoreline is not a misprint!
He won his three games, and bar owner Graham finished on 119 as they enjoyed their best night of the season so far with a 7-1 triumph.
The Flukers and Knights A met up for a relegation battle, which threw up a bit of a surprise result. Tomas and his gang came away with a 7-1 win, which now puts the Knights at the bottom of the pile.
Bar 180 A remained in contention at the top after a crushing defeat of the Surfers, showing no mercy as they ran out 7-1 winners. Elsewhere, Ensecan and Sundowners finished all square, and Woodys scraped a 5-3 win at the X-Men.

Division 2 table-toppers Barracudarts Boys maintained their lead at the top with a fine 6-2 result over Knights B, Alan hitting a 180 for the visitors.
The Nutters matched that scoreline as they beat The Tavern in a match that did not reflect the result because most legs had both players on a double.
Amazingly, Bar 180B are still unbeaten this term, but only just. They had to fight back from 4-2 down to share the spoils in a tough match at Ourplace Naturals.
At the same venue, the Playgirls (who are still having lots of fun) were just pipped 5-3 by the Naughty Nautas. Amigos Bad Girls came up against Rood B in Los Abrigos, but Connie and her pals proved to be too strong on the night and came away with a deserved 6-2 win.
Yelas Bar continued their excellent form and are now in a promotion place. They showed their class by beating fellow-hopefuls Gaffers 6-2.
Marilyns Bar really did appear to be enjoying their match against Phoenix Flames, and were on the verge of a long-awaited victory.
But with just the trebles leg to play, the home team’s Maddie steeled herself to strike the double and finish things all square at 4-4.
