Hucknall and Co lap it up! - 23.07.2010
SIMPLY RED, one of the greatest pop groups of all, put on a dazzling show for the 10,000-strong audience at Adeje Golf last Tuesday.

Such was the reception that Mick Hucknall and his band were taken aback at the number of Brits in the audience. But he still managed to convey their regards and thanks to Tenerife in Spanish and English.
They were overwhelmed with the welcome at the Hotel Jardin Tropical, where they were staying, even before they went on stage,
The popular Manchester Band, on their Farewell Tour before breaking up at the end of the year, performed all their greatest hits during a spellbinding 90 minutes, including Holding Back The Years, Stars, Fairground and If You Don’t Know Me by Now.
Hucknall, who has fronted the band for 25 years, plans to go solo next year. But he says he is determined to return to Tenerife for a social visit with his family partner Gabriella Wesberry and their two-year-old daughter, Romy True
He is also a keen golfer, and the Adeje course could soon be accommodating him.
After the show, the singer requested a selection of local wines and was suitably impressed, as he was with some of the local delicacies.
These included Papas Arrugadas and Mojo Picon, and they went down so well that he asked for the recipes and how to prepare them.
Canaries Live Sun Festival, who promoted and produced the show, were also left extremely satisfied with the concert, which began with three support bands Proyecto Momo, Pornosurf and La Vieja Morla.
Jordi Esplugas, the voice of Live Sun Festival, said Simply Red had laid on an unforgettable performance with brilliant sounds.

The promoters would like to thank everyone who contributed to making the concert a great success, and say they are planning to bring more international artists to Tenerife.
