Candelaria goes Jacko crazy - 25.02.2010
EVERYONE should be dressed up to thrill in a Michael Jackson outfit at the Candelaria Carnival tomorrow night (Saturday).

The eagerly-awaited “Murgas” concert, featuring some of the funniest satirical groups, will be staged in the Plaza de la Patrona from 8.30pm.

The Candelaria theme is Michael Jackson, and tomorrow’s major event, the Carnival Gala, is dedicated to Jackson Mania, with no Queen of the Fiestas election.

The Children’s Carnival took place last night (Thursday), and tonight sees a concert featuring music by Orquesta Acapulco.

A Grand Carnival Parade is scheduled tomorrow and everyone there should represent an aspect of the King of Pop.

Then, in the evening, the ninth Regional Murgas Concert closes the Carnival by featuring performances by the three best satirical groups from the Santa Cruz Carnival, and the three winners of the Las Palmas Carnival contest.

The festivities wind up on Sunday when the Punta Larga Shopping Centre hosts performances by several other satirical groups.
