Diverse markets - 25.02.2010
Tenerife tourist attractions have been promoted in Israel.

The island has been the only Spanish destination present in Tel Aviv at the IMTM (International Tourism Market Mediterranean)Tel Aviv, held last week; the stand promoted by Turismo de Tenerife, was one of the most visited by travel agents attending the event.
Tourism insular Councilor and Head of Tourism of Tenerife, Jose Manuel Bermudez, said that "Israel is a very interesting market for us as that Tenerife offers the visitor everything that they search for: nature, weather, theme parks, diversity of choice to choose peace and traditions." He added that "the fair also served to maintain contacts aimed at establishing a direct air route between Tel Aviv and Tenerife North airport.
This is the second time that Tenerife has attended this fair, which has enjoyed the cooperation of Mona Tours tour operator. The island is also the only Spanish destination that has been represented in it. Among the island's tourist products most in demand this year at this event were honeymoons, conferences, carnival and outdoor sports like surfing.
The IMTM has seen a notable increase in countries wishing to submit their tenders as the Israeli tourist market is very attractive, they are increasingly committed to new destinations such as Tenerife, a popular vacation spot in Israel and the farthest destination in Europe for the Israelite.
The fair was open to professionals and this time was attended by 35 countries and over 20,000 visitors, up 35 percent from the previous event. It is the largest tourism fair in the eastern Mediterranean and, in addition to promoting tourism, serves to strengthen the cooperation of Israel's tourism bodies with other parts of the world.
