Roll out the barrow! - 04.12.2009

PAM COWAN spent six weeks gathering booze for Amarilla Golf Club’s Fun Day competition and raffle – and then won a wheelbarrow full of lager.

It was the top prize and Pam said: “That certainly wasn’t planned. My garage has been filling up with wine and lager for weeks, and it’s the last thing I want to take home with me.”

The players didn’t mind, though, because she invited them to help themselves, and they did, so much so that the wheelbarrow was emptied in no time.

 Competition winner with 44 points was Maurice Horgan, a visitor to the club who flew into Tenerife on holiday with his wife and daughter only the day before.

Second on a back-nine count-back was John Williams (42), with Monica Kroh pipped into third place.
