DESPITE the heatwave, Mike Byatt felt a slight chill around his bonce after having a year’s growth of hair shaved off for charity.
Bob and Jayne Fearnell, who own Bar Toscales, in Valle San Lorenzo, kindly allowed the sponsored shave to take place there last Saturday.There was no shortage of volunteers prepared to take the scissors for a snip at Mike’s locks. But the serious part of the shave was given to Maggie Leadbeater, who effected the final coup de gras. The total sum raised was 226 euros, which Mike asked to be used for helping take under-privileged Tenerife children to the UK for a holiday next year.The pictures show Mike, with his full head of hair, the shaven head and finally, with Bob Fearnell as the money is presented to Edna Goodall, from Tenerife Sur Lions Club. |
