Swan mop it up, to the sound of music - 17.07.2009
THE Sound Of Musicals venue, at Karting Las Americas, hosted a successful end-of-season presentation night for the Oasis Fm Tenerife 8ball Pool League.

The night started with the eagerly-awaited League Cup final between red league winners The Palms Bar and The Swan, local rivals and yellow league champs.
Both sides played some quality pool and there was little between them in the first singles section. The Swan flew into a 2-0 lead, but the Palms won legs three and four.
The doubles rubbers were just as tight, but a smart set of clearances from The Swan boys gave them both legs.
Pete, who was “player of the final”, made it 5-2 with a stunning clearance from the break to frustrate Mike and the Palms Boys.
Graeme got revenge over Bungalow to pull one back for the Palms, but Grandad Chris clinched the ninth leg to seal victory for The Swan.
Heart-attack Craig lost the final dead rubber after knocking in the black carelessly, and the 6-4 scoreline was a fair result.
The conclusion of the pool saw singles champion Graham taking on Jambo, the “player of the season”.
Both men reckoned they could beat the other with a broom handle, so a special ‘clean-sweep’ event saw Graham play with a mop and Jambo the brush!
Graham just edged a match that proved why women have better control with such tools!
The ever-popular Ged Bolton entertained the masses before the presentations, and he showed some ability with the cue by potting a long shot as part of his encore!
Chairman Aaron cut an emotional figure as he handed out the prizes. He is returning to the UK with his fiancée, Debbie, next month, and everyone associated with the league wishes them well.
Registration for the new season is now taking place, and the deadline is 5pm on Monday (20th July).
If you wish to register a team, please email your contact details to ross@oasisfm.com or call 902 232 101.
The AGM for the new season is on Tuesday (21st July) at 8pm, for a prompt 8.30 start, at 44 Oxford Street, in Torviscas.
All captains must attend, but the meeting is open to all league players.
