Rotary Club’s 12.000-euro food voucher for the needy - 12.06.2009
A CHARITY tournament, staged by Tenerife South Rotary Club at Golf Costa Adeje last month, raised a fantastic 12,000 euros for needy people in the south.

It means that, with various other fund-raising activities this year, the Rotary Club have now donated 18,000 euros to charity in recent months.
And last Friday (5th June), at the Finca del Arte Restaurant in Chayofa (Arona), the Rotary Club presented gigantic, symbolic cheques for 4,000 euros each to the Social Services councillors from the town councils of Adeje, Arona and San Miguel.
The Rotary Club would like to thank all those who have given generously to this worthy cause, which is supporting the work done by the southern town halls’ Social Services departments.
Thanks also go to the Rotary Club members, without whose tireless efforts this annual charity golf event could not take place.
The other 6,000 euros have already been spread around deserving causes in the south.
Considering the economic climate, the Rotary Club are delighted with their overall efforts to help the less-fortunate people.
Last December, they sent a 40ft container to Mauritania full of second-hand clothes, and complete medical kits to help surgeons out there. And plans are afoot to do the same again by the end of the year.
