Sinpromi launches' Tica ' technological accessibility project - 12.06.2009
This initiative also involves the ITER and the Institute for Social Action of the Azores. The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the island society for the promotion of people with disabilities, Sinpromi, has launched a project Tica: information and communication access, which aims to use new technologies as tools that facilitate the integration of this group on equal terms between 2009 and 2011. The budget of 546,589 euros, has been approved by the Management Committee. The specific objectives of this project are providing accessibility to technology, including establishing new technologies and products as tools to support the integration of people with functional diversity (disability), to pass and enforce laws and regulations of accessibility and universal design, conduct pilot projects to ensure and improve the training levels of people with functional diversity, pooling efforts and new experiences that take place in the field of information technology and communication, disseminating and sharing the results in order to create synergies with other regions.
