Wingate’s colourful Dia de Canarias - 05.06.2009 |

 FOR Wingate students, it is important for them to remember that they are in the Canarias.
They take an active part in the local culture – and Dia de Canarias is one of the key events of the year.
Last week was Semana de Canaries at Wingate Seniors and in many lessons, not just Spanish, aspects of Canarian culture were explored.
On the Friday, a display was mounted of some of the Seniors’ work. It attracted a lot of interest from students and from parents waiting to pick up their children at the end of school.
The teachers of Spanish also treated students to a colourful display, dressing up in traditional Canarian costume for the day.
