THERE was a real thriller in the penultimate round of matches in the Oasis Fm Tenerife 8 Ball Pool League.
The Red League has been tight all season and with just two matches to go, three sides could still take the spoils.
The top two teams met in Torviscas, and Palms Bar needed a win to keep their hopes alive against Target Bar A.
The hosts had beaten Target Bar twice already this season, but this was a much closer affair.
Palms took an early 3-1 lead, but the visitors pegged them back with a double doubles success. The next two singles were shared, which meant Palms had to win the last two rubbers.
With Olympic timing, the Tenerife Hammers team turned up after their 6-4 victory over North & South and witnessed a watertight game which Roscoe won after a schoolboy error from Ashley.
It was past midnight when Graham won the last match to give Palms Bar the narrowest of victories. They will win the league on Tuesday if they avoid defeat against Trap Door B.
Last years champions, The Swan, clinched the Yellow League with another fine victory. They were undefeated last season, and will match that should they get another result against Legends Bar.
Delicias La Cana and The Brum are still scrapping for the runners-up honour.
