Titsa charges will rise by between 4% and 6% on the price of a ticket on an intercity bus in August

The ticket cost goes from metropolitan intercity 1.25 euros to 1.30 euros (4%), while the journey subsidised from 0.85 to 0.95 euros (11.11% by rounding adjustments). For ticket Intercity kilometre (more than 12 km) establishing a 6%, varying according to the subsidised route kilometres.

The Cabildo of Tenerife approved the updating of tariffs interurban the company Intercity Transport SA de Tenerife (titsa), which will be an increase of 4% in the ticket price in regular bus and a 11.11% in each journey with bonus in the metropolitan area, while the inter-kilometre rate, namely the journeys of more than 12 miles away, will increase by 6%.

This increase also applies to journeys that are made on the tram, a service that is regarded as Intercity and will therefore be affected by the implementation of the new fare. At first, the rise will be implemented from August 8, if no last minute changes occur that may mean the change is to implemented  from another day.

The tariff increase interurban lines is determined by the order of the Ministry of Public Works published in the Gazette (BOE) last July 12, which required the revision of prices on a 3.27%.

The latest rise in rates in the Intercity service in Tenerife took place in November 2005, the month in which actually occurred that the ticket be established at 1.25 euros, while the bond stood at 0.85 euros per journey. Now, the ticket's going to cost intercity 1.30 euros (a spread of 0.05 euros), while the journey with bonus paid 0.95 (a variation of 0.10 euros). All these increases are those relating to travel and services in the metropolitan area, which consists of Tenerife in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, La Laguna, Tegueste and El Rosario.

As for the fare intercity kilometre, referring to journeys outside the metropolitan area and more than 12 miles away, the single tickets increase by 6%, while journeys will be adjusted taking into account rounding, an indicator is necessary for the establishment of the new prices. To give some examples, the line 111 (Santa Cruz Beach-Playa de Las americas), which runs 86 kilometers, increases from the ticket cost 8 euros to 8.45 and 4.35 euros subsidised journeys increases to 5 euros.
