Prohibit the use of BBQ’s in the Garajonay National Park - 18.07.2008
The Joint Management Committee of the National Parks of the Canaries took the agreement to prohibit cooking in recreational areas of Garajonay National Park.

According to this body, the commission has taken this decision before the severe drought that affected the mountains of La Gomera included in the Garajonay National Park and the resulting situation of extreme fire risk.

This ban will take effect in principle until October 15, but could be extended in the event that the conditions for fire risk extends beyond that date.

Also, it was agreed the demolition of BBQ’s located in certain recreational areas. In these places will be maintained tables and other equipment already in place so that these areas continue their current services that enable the enjoyment of visitors.
