It’s a cracker for Christmas - 07.12.2007
In unconventional UK Christmas weather but usual for Tenerife, the Lions Club Tenerife Sur in conjunction with Pam and Tony at the Fisherman’s Inn, Los Cristianos held the Christmas Cracker afternoon on Sunday 2nd December.

On hand to entertain was several local artists, thanks to the famous Sid, who gave their time in aid of the Lion's charities and in particular the children’s holiday project. There was excellent performances from Simply Mo, Alexander McCrae, Paul Monroe, Dave Tracy, Paul Goldney (Pat not the real Elvis) partnered with Roger performed as the “Everly Brothers”.

Silly Santa attended with a sack full of gifts that were handed out to the children whilst a new member of the Tenerife Sur Branch Club, Virginia, came dressed as a wench and
raised money selling home products, it was said her mince pies were excellent.

Thanks to Sid, Angela, Jo and many others who begged, stole and borrowed many of the items required for the event including the main raffle prize, a large hamper and assisted in running several stalls. The raffle alone raised €700.

Pam and Tony at the Fisherman's Inn hold several charity events throughout the year; with their tremendous effort they are always successful for which Tenerife Sur Lions are very grateful. The afternoon was a complete success and may be a record raising a staggering 1725 euros. Well done everyone and thank you all for a wonderful start to a great Christmas season.
