EXAM SUCCESS - 31.08.2007
BRITANNIA SCHOOL IS JUST HAIR RAISINGLY BEAUTIFUL

The City and Guilds students at Britannia School have done it again! 100% pass rate in their Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy examinations, both written and practical, with 90% receiving either a credit or distinction pass grade in their theory papers.  All credit must go to the hard work of the students, and their tutors, Sue and Claire, for their enormous effort throughout the past academic year, which included a very stringent inspection from the Exam board itself, with an inspection team visiting from the UK to ensure that the rigorous standards required are being met. The school is the only City and Guilds approved Centre on the island. The course itself is unique as it is a Fastrack Diploma, i.e. it can be completed in 1 academic year, leading to the IVQ Level 2 Diploma, endorsed by the Hair and Beauty Industry´s leading professional organisation, HABIA.
Successful students will move on to careers not just directly in the Hair and Beauty Industry, or set up their own Salon, but have the option to consider careers in such as film, television, theatre and media, and also in the tourism industry on cruise ships or in hotels, and even airlines today look for cabin crew who have a hairdressing and beauty therapy background. Additionally, the school is looking to introduce Holistic therapies during this year, such as aromatherapy and reiki.
This success adds to the School´s record  exam pass rate this year, including 100% pass rate at grades A to C in Information Technology, Travel and Tourism and Spanish, plus a high pass rate at other IGCSE and A level in the Summer 2007 session. All their University applicants have succeeded in accessing their degree courses, and good luck to Erin (BSc in Journalism), Natalie (BSc in Psychology), Louise ( BA in Travel and Tourism Management), and Jade (BA in Travel and Tourism – after a gap year).  For full details on exam passes, or  for any further information about the courses at the School, including the full range of Adult Learning courses being introduced this Autumn, visit the School´s website at www.britanniaschoolonline.com, or call 922797563.
