
On Monday 6th August Leonardo’s, Playa de las Americas played host to the Thomas Cook fun day; raising money for the Variety Club.
A fantastic day was had by all at Leonardos, scores of people turned out to do there bit for the charity and take part in the many activities on offer for the day; face painting, guess how many jelly beans in the jar, splat the rep and so much more.
The wild boys gave an impromptu al fresco performance live on air much to joy of the waiting crowds, they were joined on stage by Danny the kids rep and Emma from behind the bar who belted out a fantastic mixtures of ballads and party anthems. Oasis FMs Darren Shortt did his afternoon show live from the event, talking to all the organisers and visitors that popped by, Joe Ferguson stopped in to see how the event was going and ended having his entire head painted like a tiger for charity!
So far over 3,000 euros have been raised with still more to come, as Manager Paul Jones is being sponsored to be a rep for the day!
Thomas Cook donate £1 to the Variety Club on every holiday booking they make. This is just one of the simple ways they are helping to raise over £1.5 million towards the refurbishment of the Intensive Care and High Dependency Unit at The Variety Club Children's Hospital.
