As intimated last week, this week saw North and South take on their “hoodoo” team, Oranges and Lemons. The bad news for North and South is that the hoodoo continued with Oranges and Lemons beating them 12 – 18. The game was nip and tuck till the last few ends when Oranges and Lemons pulled away. Graham and Shaun are now seriously considering knobbling Rolly and Tish the next time they meet

This week saw some very big defeats handed out to teams in the Friday Night Aussie pairs League. Norfolk and Chance lived up to their name after getting demolished by Gold FM. Tony, from Gold FM, reckoned it could have been worse as he had “eased up on them”. Meanwhile Winter Gardens got another win under there belt by defeating D.J. After a tightly fought first few ends, they managed to pull away. Mo from the Darcy team., a new player to the leagues, played very well, managing to limit the damage. Her partner in crime, on and off the bowling green, Ken, a seasoned veteran was lucky to have her bail him out from a serious embarrassment…. Looks like the couch for you Ken.

By popular demand from our clients who have taken part in our Wednesday Fun Bowls morning, Winter Gardens is now holding  a Fun Bowls evening. The first evening takes place this coming  Thursday, (21 June). Like the Wednesday Fun Morning, the package included admission, hire of bowls and shoes, coaching from a qualified Bowls Coach, a glass of Sangria, and a lovely BBQ to round the evening off. It is aimed at single people, couples, and families, from 8 to 108, be they seasoned bowlers or people who have never thrown a bowl before. The Wednesday morning event is VERY popular with everyone who attends, Thursday nights event promises more of the same.
