Arona Volleyball club to visit Finland - 12.01.2007

Arona Playa de las Americas Volley Ball team made an excellent start to the year by qualifying for the eighth finals of the European Volleyball Federation Cup by beating Piet Zoomers from Holland and Mladost Zagreb from Croatia last weekend.

Arona will now play against Pielaveden Sampo Pielavesi who represent the town of Kuopio three hundred kilometres from Helsinki. The match will take place in Los Cristianos ports Pavilion on January 17th with the return match taking place in Finland at the end of this month.
Arona’s trainer explained that he didn’t know much about the Finnish team but was aware that the group includes several players from the national Finnish team and had beaten well known teams such as Locomotyv from the Ukraine and Cometa from Hungary.
Before the big match the Arona players must play on Saturday 13th January against Jusan Canarias in the Volleyball Superleague. The match will take place in Los Cristianos Sports Pavilion at 18.30.
