Biog: David left school after getting 'A' Levels at 6th form, and started work as a trainee manager for a national menswear retailer and became the youngest manager in the company at 20. After a few months he got bored and moved to the company's head office focusing mainly on the catalogue dept.
He left menswear and began working for a large DIY chain where he had a great laugh with the staff and customers - but hated the job! He left in March 1993 and signed up to Sheffield Polytechnic to do a Travel and Tourism course because 'he always wanted to travel in his career.'
David came to Tenerife during that summer with the intention of going back for his course in September, but fell into doing a bit of compering and had a driving job during the day. He got a job compering at the George & Dragon in Parque De La Paz and was there for 3 years before being offered a job at the Star Bar in 1996. He is now the longest serving compère on the island, and after 9 years is still really enjoying it.
David also started presenting on the radio in September 1996, so that will also be 9 years this year!
