| Biog: The UK’s youngest commercial radio DJ, national DJ, UK programme controller and presenter of a networked chart show in his time. You can’t cram much more into 13 broadcast years than Tony Dibbin has. Acclaimed as a rare talent by his industry peers, Dibbzy is one hot slick jock. It all broke lose at the tender age of seven when Dibbzy went to have his tonsils whipped out – and ended up with his own show on the hospital station. At 15, he was hosting an evening show on Swansea Sound. Two years later he starred on the Capital Talent Review. That landed Dibbzy a night-time session with Long Wave Radio Atlantic 252 – and within two months he was hosting mornings.
At the end of 1998, Dibbzy returned to Swansea to present three networked shows, a spell up north at Silk followed before he signed up with Medway FM to present breakfast, but was quickly headhunted to join Fusion Radio as a breakfast jock and Programme Controller and in 2001 was featured as X-Trax magazines One2Watch.
Under his tenure, Fusion 107.9FM quickly developed to become Oxford’s best new music sound a credible new alternative to Radio 1. With the help of Dibbzy and his programme team, Fusion successfully built both audiences and revenues across the City of Oxford - what next - watch this space... |
