2012/13 Competitions and Format


LEAGUE COMPETITIONS.
Singles Competition – Friday 27th July

This will be played at several venues resulting in winners going through to the ‘FINALS NIGHT’ on Friday 14th September.
It will be played as a best of three ‘501’ knockout format & best of five for the Premiership with the final of the each venue to be played as a best of five and best of seven for premiership.
The winners will play best of 5 on the ’FINALS NIGHT’
This competition is split into 4 categories: Premiership – Divisions 1 & 2 - Ladies
Players must be at the venues by 8.30pm sharp!

Doubles Competition – Friday 29th June
This will be played at several venues resulting in winners going through to the ’FINALS NIGHT’ on Friday 14th September.
It will be played as a best of three ‘501’ knockout format & best of five for the Premiership with the final of the each venue to be played as a best of five and best of seven for premiership.
The winning pairs will play best of five on the ’FINALS NIGHT’
All pairings must be from the same venue and every effort should be made that they are from the same team.
This competition is split into 4 categories: Premiership – Divisions 1 & 2 - Ladies

Trebles Competition – Friday 24th August
This will be played at several venues resulting in winners going through to the ‘FINALS NIGHT’ on Friday 14th September.
It will be played as a best of three ‘501’ knockout format & best of five for the Premiership with the final of the each venue to be played as a best of three and best of five for premiership.
The winning trebles will play best of five on the ’FINALS NIGHT’
All trebles must be from the same venue and every effort should be made that they are from the same team
This competition is split into 4 categories: Premiership – Divisions 1 & 2 - Ladies.
Players must be at the venues by 8.30pm sharp!

Replacement Players
Please note, that in the doubles and trebles competitions a player maybe replaced if required, but only in extreme circumstances!
The criteria for such replacements is that they must play for the same team/venue and must have played at least 4 league games.
Replacement player requests must be put to the committee for authorization!

JOHN LOWE TEAM HANDICAP COMPETITION
Format

There will be 7 games played which will consist of 5 games of singles and 2 games of doubles. Each game will consist of the best of three legs. The players from each team will start each leg from their given handicap score.
This year all losing 1st round teams will play in a separate ‘Plate’ competition
which will run at the same time as main team handicap competition. The ‘Plate’ Competition will be played in exactly the same format as the Team Handicap Competition.

Handicaps
Handicaps are worked out after week 15 of the season. The bottom team in
Division 2 will start from’501’. The team above will start from ‘511’ and so on with an increase of 10 points per team to the top team in Division 1 .

Draw
The draw for the Team Handicap shall take place at the Captains Meeting on
Sunday 7th October at 1pm

Results
Results should be reported to Results Secretary by both captains no later than 6pm on the Saturday following the match.

Completion Of Matches
It is requested that all matches should be played to a full so that all players
involved in a team get the chance to play on the night.
The Finals for these competitions will be played at neutral venues!

PLEASE NOTE THAT CUP MATCHES CANNOT BE CANCELLED!

OASIS FM PREMIERSHIP ALLSTARS COMPETITIONS 12/13

LEAGUE MATCH 15 - 28TH SEPTEMBER 2012
A premiership allstars singles competition
This would work in the following way:
Each team will nominate its best 2 players to play in this competition. (8 Teams 16 Players)
Both team members will play in seperate teams on the night -Team Elkington & Team Huxtable
The format of the night will consist of 8 best 5 501 singles resulting in win lose or draw for each team.
In the event of a draw a playoff would be required on The stage at the presentation night 1 leg 701 Featuring our soon to be hardworking chairman and our ever hardworking Secretary!!!!!!.
Medals will be awarded for the winning teams and wooden spoons for the losers and of course a trophy for the winning captain!.
Sponsorship is required for this event (100 euros)

LEAGUE MATCH 29 - 1ST MARCH 2013
A premiership allstars doubles competition
This would work in the following way:
Each team will nominate its best 4 players to play in this competition. (8 Teams, 16 pairs, 32 Players)
The 2 pairs of team members will play in separate teams on the night -Team Elkington & Team Huxtable
The format of the night will consist of 8 best 5 501 doubles resulting in win lose or draw for each team.
In the event of a draw a playoff would be required on The stage at the presentation night 1 leg 701 Featuring our soon to be hardworking chairman and our ever hardworking Secretary!!!!!!.
Again medals for the winning teams and wooden spoons for the losers and of course a trophy for the winning captain!.!
Sponsorship is required for this event (100 euros)

The League will be laying on some form of transportation for these events!
Sponsorship of an event would ensure that the sponsor will host the event!
