John Lowe Trophy 2010/2011

No handicap for Bar 180!
The John Lowe team handicap Trophy final took place on Monday 14th March amidst a throng of expectant supporters (including yours truly!)
Division 2 team, Knights B, holding a 250 point headstart over Bar 180A were hopeful of causing a major upset. The first match saw Mick take on Martin of the Knights in a contest that Martin really should have won but his finishing sadly let him down.
Bar 180 player Justyn then faced up to Adam and with Justyn taking the first leg, things were looking ominous. However, Adam steeled himself to take the match with some solid darts to even things up at 1-1.
The next 2 matches were fairly comfortable wins for Bar 180, Richard overcoming Mike and Wayne disposing of Guiness man Richy.
The 5th and possibly deciding game had Gary taking on the very lovely Lyn. And in a close and exciting match Lyn held on superbly well, taking out double 16 to make the score 3-2.
It was do or die now for the Knights in the first doubles game with Lyn and Sheepy taking on Mick and George. Sadly it was not to be for the Knights as Mick was in very good form on the night and with George as a very able assisstant the Bar 180 pairing took the match to claim the Trophy. A large group hug then followed!! With a few beers to boot. Commiserations to a valiant Knights B team and congratulations to Bar 180 A on winning their first John lowe trophy.

17.10.2010:
Here is the draw for the first round proper. This will be played on friday 12th November. Teams that are listed uppermost in each match will play at home in the first round and then play away in the next round. If this is not possible then it will be decided by a toss of a coin by the committee. Losing teams in the first round proper will go into the John Lowe plate. The two competitions will then run alongside each other and will be played on the same night. The finals of both competitions will be played at neutral venues.
